Dearest Friend,
Do you want a cup of tea or coffee? Here, pull up a chair.
The other day I bumped into some friends in the pharmacy whom I hadn’t seen for a long time. We chatted while we stood by the mascara display, exchanging updates.
I said, “Tell me some good news.”
My friends proceeded to tell me about health improvements and research awards.
I felt their glow and it gave me a second-hand sparkle for the rest of the day.
So, tell me some good news!
The world is so full of division at the moment. Everywhere we look there is bad news, catastrophe and despair.
But… that can’t be everything. Somewhere, hidden in that dark mire, is your good news.
I’ll tell you a bit of our good news. Yesterday, unexpectedly, my daughter’s school cross country team won second place at our Borough’s running competition. She simply glittered with the medal around her neck. Her eyes twinkled with the confidence of knowing that her team had pushed themselves beyond what they had expected of themselves and achieved something fantastic.
Your turn!
Why not hit reply to this email and tell me something good?
Even if it’s something as simple as your morning cup of coffee tasting particularly delicious. Or, better yet, tell a friend or family member in person. Share that good news.
Everyone around you will catch a glint of your glimmer, and might spread that shimmer further afield!
Even if your day feels like it has been drawn in charcoal (you know, dark chunks of ash), I hope you find a bright moment that you can share,
x
Jane
P.S. As always… share, like and reply!
Choose your own adventure!
Your response to my questionnaire has been overwhelmingly fantastic!
If any of you missed it, I’m planning to offer an online course in art journaling in the very near future!
I can already tell you that it will cost approximately $100.
Each module will explain an art journaling idea or technique. And… each module will end with both a gentle step (for those who feel overwhelmed or under time pressure) and a deep dive (for those who are really inspired). Of course, you can always revisit modules if you want to transition from gentle steps to deep dives in the future!
If you would be interested in taking an art journaling course from me, please fill out my fun “Choose Your Own Adventure” questionnaire.
You can literally have a say in what is included in my first course offering!

My autistic son got his first letter grade in PE yesterday, after years of trying to get him to participate in Phys Ed classes. It was an A!
Love the gold glimmers Jane!
Good news huh, hmmmm...
1) I haven't cried yet today (It's 5:00 PM so there's still time!)
2) I am serenaded most days by blackbirds, bluetits, crows, seagulls and magpies
3) My 11 year old is having her first foray into after school adventures with her friend, sans adult! And they are having fun, mostly eating chips and hanging out in the park.
