Thank you for the inspiration!! We survived Helene in the mountains of Western North Carolina but many don’t have homes.

That includes creatures.

I am beginning to love my 235 square feet and my art supplies that made it through…all the more reason to ✍🏻 now. Merci.

I wish I had glorious places to walk and explore as you do. I live in the desert…there is beauty in the desert yet I do not embrace it. I draw from my own experiences instead. I would like to sit and observe rather than take photos.

It is Challenging to sit in the desert!

Thank you for your observations.

I love the desert! My mother in law grew up in Namibia. Is it so beautiful. And also so ancient. Which desert do you live in? 💕

What a wonderful newsletter this month. Love the "new" take on "old" things. And of course your "daily" drawings continue to inspire me.

I was in Arizona almost 20 years ago. It was so beautiful! But slowing down is hard no matter where you live. 💕

What a delightful post! I was just getting ready to tackle my “to do” list, and this popped up. Something fun to think about and incentive to make time to sketch. Thank-you ☺️

I enjoyed your art and your words, thank you for sharing. As artists, we learn to see the world differently, viewing the negative space as positive, to see the shadows with appreciation, to see the nuance of colors.

This is so true. We see both sides all the time.

I love seeing your sketches on my notes feed. I'm guessing your daily drawing habit helps you get them done fairly quickly?

I don’t really know. I just tell myself I have to draw something. I think about a moment in the day, no matter now mundane, that I could represent.

Note to self, I need to practice that skill myself, I want to get into illustrating more. Thankyou for responding

Definitely. I give myself 15-20 min to fill a paint with ink. If I’m painting it takes 30-35 min on average. I use a hair dryer for the layers of paint ! That speeds things up a bit.
